Sweeping movement carries force without resistance.  This piece reflects endurance - the quiet act of holding stead within continuous motion and change.

An exploration of persistent disturbance.  Movement repeats and resurfaces, echoing emotional states that refuse to settle despite moments of calm.

A counter motion emerges through layered blues and whites.  The work speaks of resistance - not dramatic, but deliberate - shaped by pressure rather than force.

A moment held at the edge of change, where pressure gathers beneath the calm surface.  Gesture and layered texture suggest restraint just before release.

About Deirdre

Deirdre is a self-taught, intuitive abstract artist whose work is rooted in the natural beauty of the world around us.

Beginning her artistic journey in 2018 while recovering from surgery, she initially explored seascapes and landscapes, particularly focusing on the ever-changing sky and ocean. After moving to the coast with her husband and three dogs, her love for the sea and sky was reignited, leading to a shift in style towards abstract expressionistic style painting. No longer capturing images but evoking emotions, themes of calm and chaos are central to her work, with a deep exploration of how these forces exist side by side in nature and in our everyday lives.

Using a range of materials, including textured mediums and expressive brushstrokes, Deirdre aims to evoke moments of reflection, inviting viewers to pause and connect with the emotions of the work.
